We can file this under 'Things that make you go huh?'. The room number that Bill has in Mexico is 101. This is the same room number that Neo has in the Matrix. Also, if you're a well read type, you will recognize the significance of Room 101 from George Orwell's 1984 as the room where 'the thing you fear most resides'.
The final climactic fight between Bill and Beatrice (the Bride) was originally written as an epic sword battle on the beach with Beatrice wearing her wedding gown (as seen on the Vol. 2 poster). Rumor is that when the production ran long, Harvey Weinstein (the muckymuck at Miramax) insisted that Quentin cut down the final scene. Which he did, resulting in the short but heart stopping finale.
