It's an unimaginable task to fill the shoes of two legendary icons in Country Music. To their credit, Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Pheonix do a remarkable job in playing June Carter and Johnny Cash respectively.
Both Reese and Joaquin sing their own vocals in the film, and both actors had to learn their musical instruments from scratch.
It's been reported that shortly before their deaths, June and Johnny hand picked Reese and Joaquin to play them in the movie.
